Class of 16

Class of 16 – To teach is to do nothing more than to share whatever knowledge and experience we gather through the years. The more eager the observer or listener, the better the teacher—and how the hours flew by. My thanks to all from the Art of Voice and the Art of production classes for bringing the best out of me.
Let me share with you a track we all produced together in about 4 hours during the August 15th production master classes. The students each sang a couple of lines.
Love to all

  1. Gino, great track, great ideas. Who did all the keyboard and percussion programming?
I’ll see you next March at the Austin shows! Huge fan since late ’70s..fellow musician…

  2. Good day Mr. Vannelli! Never thought I’d be writing to you. Like Greg Giacona above, I’ve been a huge fan since the 70’s. I too have tickets for an upcoming show at the Saban in B. Hills in Nov. Can’t wait! Regarding the video’s of you on youtube, I was at the Cobo Arena show in Detroit when that video was filmed and, YOU WERE ON ABSOLUTE FIRE!!!! I’ll never forget that show, and I’ll never forget first listening to the Powerful People album and how fresh, exciting, and different it sounded. Not sure if you’re aware that at the time, the Gino Vannelli band was the first and only all synthesizer recording band. But then the live band added an entirely new dimension to your sound. And how I loved that sound. So much so I had to share it with everyone I knew. I’m so happy you are still recording and touring. See ya real soon!!!!! I am Gerry Donald, originally from Detroit, now a 30 plus year California transplant. And still listening to Gino!

  3. Excellent version of this song. By the way: any plans to come to Europe? Quite some people can’t wait!

  4. Hello Gino,
You probably don’t remember me from the A&M days but I was the Detroit area engineer (Motown and United Sound alum) who worked there often for Herb and Jerry. I’m still active doing a few jazz and classical project when the come about.
Sue and I were listening to one of your projects and it brought back great memories of the west coast projects and the A&M early CD mastering work there.
Much has changed in the music world since then, but your work stands the test of time. I’m glad to see you are teaching and passing on the knowledge and experience.
Please say Hi to Joe for me. You all are in our prayers as is your friend Jamie. May God Bless you all.
    Let’s get in touch again.
    Pax,

P.S. I still have the Baldwin piano in the studio but lost my great piano tech Steve Hornbeck when he moved to Florida.
